In 1882 Madeline Vinton Dahlgren published South Mountain Magic. It is a book full of the legends and tales of South Mountain, and it is considered one of the only surviving testaments to a forgotten time when dark shadows haunted the forests and hills of America. Today I dive into Chapter 1 and explain who Mrs. Dahlgren was and what from what angle she was writing these tales.
